Who We Read: The Online Wine Edition
July 7, 2014
At R\West, we are fortunate enough to count a number of high quality beverage and food accounts amongst our clients. For this edition of Who We Read, we’ve listed a few of our current favorite online reads to help keep you in the know, when it comes to the wine world.
I’ll Drink To That! – Technically not a read, but a listen, this podcast is run by NYC based wine guy, Levi Dalton. Each episode features an in-depth interview with some of the greatest and most influential personalities in the wine world. Insider PR tip: If you are someone who wants to get to know wine journalists better, this is a GREAT resource, as many of the episodes feature the top writers in that world and offer great insight into their writing styles, regions of interest, etc.
PUNCH – Punch Magazine an online magazine created in collaboration with Ten Speed Press. Run by Talia Baiocchi and Leslie Pariseau, these writers are farming some of the most fun stories within the beverage world that we have seen in a long time – easily finding stories that weave beverage into pop culture and make it a fun read for anyone. From everything to the history of the champagne flute, drinking with Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem and even a video on extreme wine pouring,
grapefriend – Sometimes, wine education can get a little stuffy. Lucky for us, grapefriend is to the rescue. Started by former MTV producer Alyssa Vitrano, this website provides wine recommendations based on an array of categories: from holiday wine picks to what the stars are drinking to wines with great labels or branding. One of my personal favorite columns on the site is focused on the presence of wine on popular TV shows like Mad Men, Game of Thrones and Scandal.
